Marko Katalan
Marko Katalan is a senior M&A and strategic advisory professional with over 15 years of experience advising founders, family offices, private investors, and corporates on cross-border transactions, restructurings, and complex growth situations. His work spans acquisitions, divestitures, joint ventures, carve-outs, and minority investments, with a strong focus on Europe – U.S. dealmaking. Marko combines deep transactional experience with a rare interdisciplinary background in law, finance, and global strategy. He has advised on transactions across sectors including energy, infrastructure, technology, professional services, consumer businesses, and special situations, often involving multi-jurisdictional structures, regulatory complexity, and sensitive stakeholder dynamics. His strength lies in shaping deals from early strategy and structuring through negotiation and execution, aligning legal, financial, and commercial considerations. Before and alongside his advisory work, Marko held senior roles in banking, corporate finance, and legal practice, and has spent two decades advising shareholders and boards on governance, fiduciary duties, capital strategy, and risk management. He is particularly trusted in situations requiring discretion, judgment, and long-term perspective — such as family-owned businesses, succession scenarios, and founder-led companies approaching transformational events. Educated across Europe and the United States, including Columbia Law School, Marko operates fluently across legal systems, cultures, and capital markets. He advises with a pragmatic, investor-minded approach, focusing not only on closing transactions but on preserving value, relationships, and strategic optionality over the long term.
