Caelan Ness, CFA, is a skilled financial analyst with expertise in valuation analysis, financial modeling, and strategic impact/scenario analysis, developed through experience spanning corporate M&A execution, buy side equity research, and strategic FP&A within a Fortune 500 consumer technology company. He has deep technical experience in areas of financial modeling, valuation analysis, and initiative-level profitability analysis. Previously, Caelan focused on M&A transaction modeling and strategic due diligence within a corporate medtech M&A team. He spent a majority of his time building merger/valuation models from scratch, conducting financial and scenario analyses, and assessing acquisition target viability, that would ultimately guide investment decisions. He also spent some time within the corporate venture capital team and played a critical role in analyzing early stage companies with potential synergistic opportunities that would ultimately flow into the acquisition pipeline. Earlier in his career, Caelan spent time on the buy side of institutional asset management where he conducted fundamental equity research and pitched investment recommendations directly to portfolio managers. His focus areas were in micro and small cap international equities from a generalist industry lens. Caelan holds a Master of Science in Finance and a Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance (Magna Cum Laude) from the University of San Diego. He earned his CFA charter in 2022 and remains an active member.
